      Pastor's Corner

Colleagues, co-workers, family and friends receive free bits of wisdom from my Peach Diet Snapple Iced Tea caps.

Today's Snapple cap was "Real Fact #1 A goldfish's attention span is three seconds."  These so-called "Real Facts" can be helpful, but sometimes the "Real Facts" border on useless information.  They remind us of the clichés we have heard all our lives.  These clichés continue to have an existence because they contain at least a kernel of truth.

It's April and our taxes will soon be due if you haven't already taken care of that task.  Mine were done in March, which is much earlier than usual.  Yes, I have been known to mail the tax stuff at the post office near midnight on April 15th.  You know the cliché I'm thinking of with taxes, "Nothing is certain but death and taxes."  For the Christian living in the post-Easter experience, death and taxes are certain but so is life after death in the resurrection.

That's our good news in this Season of Easter.  Death, taxes and (thank God) the resurrection are the things which are certain.  The "icing on the cake" is this.  Because you have made it this far in the Pastor's Corner, you also know your attention span is much longer than a goldfish!  That's not useless information but a helpful "Real Fact."

Be well.

Bill
