The Lenten Journey begins . . .

Our forty days of reflection, confession and preparation begin with our Lenten Journey at the Ash Wednesday Service, February 6, at 7:00 P.M., in the Sanctuary.  This is a service of worship with extended time of Confession, Imposition of Ashes and Holy Communion.  Assisting in the Ash Wednesday Service will be members of the Confirmation Class of 2008.

For those who desire more this Lenten Season, this year there will be an Evening Prayer or Vespers on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 P.M. in the Sanctuary.  This will be a less formal gathering of worship.  These gatherings will be sharing a time of worship, which will include the Lenten devotional, God is still speaking, I am (s)training to hear . . ..  This service will be held Wednesdays in Lent after Ash Wednesday and before Holy Week (February 13, 20, 27, March 5, 12) in the    Sanctuary.  This service will begin at 6:30 P.M. and end by 7:00 P.M. for a  rehearsal of the choir.

Maundy Thursday Service of Word and Sacrament and Service of Tenebrae will be held March 20 at 7:00 P.M. in the Fellowship Hall.  Assisting in this service will be the members of the Confirmation Class of 2008.  While this service ends with the hint of the resurrection, it also ends without a benediction.  Those gathered scatter like the disciples of Jesus.

Be watching for more information on the community Good Friday Service of Worship from 12:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M.
