PASTOR'S CORNER

To love God is something greater than to know [God].
St. Thomas Aquinas

Our faith is more than something of the grey matter between our ears. We might think about God.  We might even claim to know God.  However, without loving God in our hearts, all that intellectual stuff leaves us feeling rather empty.

During the next few months, the Adult Education Class will discuss how we love Jesus.  The Adult Education Class will meet on Sunday mornings at 9:00 A.M.  The book we will be using is Mark Allan Powell's Loving Jesus published by   Fortress Press.  A copy of the book will be provided to participants.

Sometimes the Adult Education Class is a series, which builds upon what was discussed the previous weeks.  This book series is one of those where you can just drop-in and begin to participate.

Sometimes there is an Adult Education Class that is a one-time class where you get it or you don't.  This book series is one of those that can deepen your spirituality with the greater participation.

Professor Powell's book recognizes the naivete of our youth with our life of faith.  That life of faith can be rediscovered as an adult with a second naivete of a
closer walk with Jesus.  The old-fashioned phrase for
this is a life of piety.  The phase I'm most comfortable with is a life of loving-faithfulness.

I hope to see you in the class where I hope to lead
the discussion.

Be Well.
